So pleased to report amazing performance

As some of you may know, I sold my 2016 CS 3710 and purchased a 2018 DS 4369. A large part of my Motivation was the lack of control, esp in windy conditions, the other factor was insufficient braking ( not opening this up for discussion again these are my opinions and observations)
The brakes on the DS are amazing, with the 3stage engine brake I hardly need to use regular brakes!

Today on the way home from camping here in SoCal, it was very windy, ( 25 mph sustained and 35 plus mph gusts)the kind of wind that made driving my CS scary.
Iím elated to report that the DS was extremely stable under these conditions with CD set at 2.5. Not once did it feel like I was being pushed into another lane!
In fact the winds effects were almost nonexistent, with only light pressure on the wheel. My wife was also amazed as she felt nothing, before it would be unnerving to her. WOW what a difference!Stuart

I'm happy to report the same thing. I've been in 30mph plus winds and its steady as a rock where my CS would have been all over the place...

I share that same viewpoint about California wind although especially coming and going over the grapevine or just anywhere on I-5 between Bakersfield and the Bay Area. It can be windy just about anywhere. My first coach was an Allegro Breeze and it was all over the road due to the short wheel base chassis. My DW used to say lets pray together when a semi rig went by us. We learned from that and heard about CD. Then we got the Ventana LE 3436 and CD was a saving grace along with a slightly longer wheelbase. Finally, when we went to a Ventana 4002 like you said, 3 stage engine brake and CD between 2.5 and 3 it is a pure joy to drive. You hardly notice winds, rigs passing etc. We look forward to every trip we take.

Only question, for the distance you drove in those winds ... was it worth $200,000 - $300,000 or more since you also went from 37 to 43 foot

Its funny how much of a game changer CD is. People in other brands down play it but have never owned it. It truly changes the driving experience as well as the safety factor.

I have had 13 coaches and wont own one without it.

Independent front suspension, large tires (365ís front], air suspension and Tag axle also help a bunch. CD is amazing!

We got our Comfort Drive confirmation in the fall of 2016 while driving across northwestern Wyoming. Those who have driven I-25 in the fall will know why.

As we passed through Cheyenne, a scrolling overhead sign said "Caution: Strong Crosswinds Ahead." They weren't kidding!

A few miles up the road, a similar sign said "Caution: 70 mph Crosswinds Ahead." Again, they weren't kidding!

The coach never wandered and always felt easily controllable. That said, I was really concerned at having it flipped over...like the empty tractor-trailer we soon encountered. Very scary trip! The worst of it was over the course of about 50 miles, then the winds began to taper off. I couldn't imagine making that trip without Comfort Drive. Obviously, we are sold on it!

When shopping for motorhomes I test drove all the major brands. Had a salesperson tell me that his brand could of had Comfort Drive but they decided it was a gimmick. Well after driving my Dutch Star in the wind, best damn gimmick Iíve ever experienced. Game changer.

On our first trip 2 days after the MH started living in my driveway, we went to DC, howling wind all the way.

Driving my Class C i know i would have been all over the road.

With the 4002 le it was a great drive.

The CS is a marvel of engineering, a pleasure, and i was not fatigued in the least.

Just sayin ...
