The electronic readout inside the coach swings between 75% and 90%...was blaming this on temperature. But now I noticed the gauge on the tank is at 1/2. Which gauge is likely to be the most accurate...and is this a warranty issue or just the " nature of the beast "...ie..live with it? Thanks.

They fill the tank to 75/80% of capacity only----a 25 gallon tank will take 18 gallons roughly speaking----and when it is done the guage reads full inside. So the outside tank reading is correct as to the actual amount in the tank generally with every thing being in good operating order.

The inside guage is relative---and you just learn to interpret what it means----on mine a 3/4 full inside is a tad less than half full tank and so on. Full inside is relative to roughly 75/80% outside in the tank.

I'm not sure what you mean "swings between 75 and 90%" if you mean as you look at it it registers 75 then 90 then back to 75 in the same glance then I think something is wrong and worth a check. Or the earth is moving under you.

For all practical purposes I use the inside guage to cue me---then I use the outside guage to decide if I really need propane.

The swing was over night....so I was assuming outside temperature was affecting reading due to cooling/heating. Thanks for the explanation.

I simply filled my tank when it got down to the 1/4 level on the tank guage. I then marked how much it took at that reading and also noted what the inside gauge read. I put all of that information on the side of the tank. Now I always no exactly how much propane I have in my tank.
I only fill the tank when it gets to 1/4 or less.

Generally speaking the gauge on the tank is most accurate, or to be more precise it's more reproducible.

inside the tank is a float, it floats on the liquid propane.. It is hooked to a lever which turns a shaft, on the other end of that shaft is the needle on your gauge.. Not many ways it can be wrong (Well if someone mis-adjusted the dial) but however much liquid is in your tank when it says 1/2, will the the amount in your tank EVERY TIME it says 1/2.

Now, on the shaft is some kind of electronic device, Swich or rheostat (Variable resistor) or optical "resistor" (I won't describe that here but it's how I"d bulid it)

This.. is subject to all sorts of errors.

When I have had the LP tank filled, which would be 80% I adjust the display pot to full.
Have never had a problem running out of LP there was always reserve left at next filling.

I also adjusted the pot on my interior gauge. Adjusted it exactly the same way.

What about the inside indicator with E, 1/3, 2/3 and F lights? Are they adjustable in any way?

That depends on the panel/brand your manufacturer used. Mine have just the four indications but on the readout panel just above each pushbutton are very small holes that you can use a jewelers screwdriver through to adjust the "pots"

This panel has 16 LEDs. 4 each for Black, Grey, Fresh and LP. G, G, Y, R. No holes for adjustment and I doubt there is anything on the back side. No biggie, I was going to go by the one on the tank anyway. Was just curious. Thx for the replies.
