Sony dash radio

Does anyone know if you can connect a wireless speaker to the Sony dash radio to listen to Radio outside?

Didn't even think about it being Bluetooth but it is. It is Bluetooth audio so I should be fine.

Thanks for the reply

I'd be surprised if this works. As far as I've seen, in-dash radios connect to Bluetooth as a source of audio but I've never heard of one broadcasting Bluetooth to another device. I'd be more than interested to hear if anyone has used one this way, though. It would be pretty cool.

The Bluetooth in the dash radio is receive only so won't work with Bluetooth speakers. However, you can add a Bluetooth transmitter to the headphone output of the Sony receiver and connect to a Bluetooth speaker that way. Check here.

I've not seen a car stereo that has a 3.5 mm *output* plug. The plug on the front is always input as far as I've seen. The only way I can think of to use that Bluetooth device is if you tapped into one of the RCA speaker outputs on the back and converted that down to 3.5 mm. In that instance, I think you'll get just the one channel instead of stereo sound.

If you reread my comment I was not talking about the dash radio, I was talking about the AV Receiver. This does having a headphone socket that could be used. In fact a friend of mine has done exactly this so he can use Bluetooth headphones.
