Sony tv removal from the front.
I am new to this list and have a question. I have a 2003 Dutch Star DSDP-3802.
My question is: How do I remove the front Sony tv? The wood frame appreas to be attached from the inside and I can't see how the front of the Sony tv comes off to get at any inside screws.

Open the cabinet doors and you will see the heads of two long screws that go into the wood bezel around the TV. Remove the two screws (each side) and the wood part slips out. Once out you will see some screws and a piece of metal holding the TV in.

You may have a screw under a plug on the side of the TV encloser. If you have the cap just pop it off with a flat blade screwdriver and remove the screw under it.

Be careful those Sony TVs are rather heavy.

There are 2 vinyl trim buttons that pop off at the bottom of the cabinet.
Pop them off and use a Torx screwdriver to remove the 2 screws.
There is one screw in each side cabinet that need removed. The wood trim will then pull straight out. The first time it may be a bit stuck, but the only thing holding it were those 4 screws.
There is an angle iron attached to the top front of the TV. You need to remove the screws that go up into the ceiling. Lift the front of the TV just a little and it will pull out.

I switched, back in December, to a 32" JVC that I found at Sam's Club. I started to buy a 32" Sharp from Walmart, but at the time the 4 Walmarts I went to were out of stock and they wouldn't sell me their floor models.
Back in December, these were the only 2 models I could find, that were narrow enough to allow me to open my side cabinet doors.
I did a lot of research on the Internet checking dimensions of all the 32" TVs available, at the time.

Charmingchow, there are several threads on choosing a TV and framing in the front box. Try "Replace rear TV to 26" LCD ". I posted my solutions (for the front TV) which worked out well for us. I used a Walmart 32 inch RCA LCD with built-in DVD player. It worked great and we really enjoy the upgrade. I made mine swing out so we could comfortably watch it from the living room slideout where our recliners are.

Another great setup is posted under the "Part 1 & 2 "QUICK TIPS" & "EASY MODS" .

Check this link to installs of LCD's in Newmar coach's by members of Newmar forum.
Scrool down the list to find than move down and find out how to install a surround sound system and IPOD sound system in Sony control units that were options in 02-03 coach's.
Need any more help just ask.
