Sound bar for in dash radio

I had a crazy idea. We all know that the installed speakers for the in dash radio do a terrible job. I've been contemplating the idea of installing an amp and additional speakers but the placement is a challenge given the configuration of the cockpit.

Then I thought, why not install a good sound bar and hang out from the over had cabinets. It would plug right in the back of the radio and be powered by 120 volt. Granted, you'd always have to run the inverter, but that's the case anyway in our all electric coach. The wireless sub would be stashed somewhere. The bluetooth capability would come handy even when parked at a campground.

Has anybody done this? Is this a totally crazy idea?

Sound bar for in dash radio

I did a version of this in our coach. The surround sound system was 10 years old. The sound at the rear was too loud if you were near the speakers, if you were up front it was not loud enough. I removed it, instead installing a sound bar from Samsung. I picked this particular sound bar because of it's size (just smaller than the TV. A bonus is we can use it through the Bluetooth input with our smart phones while traveling.
