Source Engineering Ride Enhancement

We’ve got a 2003 40’ Dutch Star model 4004, with a Spartan MM IFS frame that we’re considering adding the Source Engineering air bag check valve ride control to. Anyone out there done the same? Any real advantage to them. Met a guy with a 2000 MA, that said it made a noticeable difference in ride and handling, but he was in a Freightliner chassis, but since the IFS chassis supposedly rides better, not sure if it would do much. Am I just “tilting at windmills “?

I installed the air restrictor valves on the front of our 2001 DSDP - Spartan chassis with the IFS in 2015. I was looking specifically to decrease the porpoising motion even after putting new Koni Shock on. This was significantly reduced. other positive effects were less air wave steer from passing trucks. In all I would recommend the addition. I have not felt any negative ride consequences from the install.
I may try the rears this year if I can determine the air line size for the bags. At first glance they looked to be very large. If so and the fact that the two rear bags can cross communicate air would seem to make the benefits in the rear greater than in the front for roll control.

Safe travels

Thanks for your info. We’ll be passing thru Eugene OR this summer, and think I’ll stop and have them installed.

Hi Mike_Harriet,
I installed the air bag restrictors many years ago on the coach. They work as advertised. I would make the same purchase again.

Thanks to Gary's recommendation of this mod when we saw each other up at the factory last year. Air bag restrictors front and rear and Centramatic wheel balancers have made our coach a dream to drive compared to stock.
