Spare Oasis Pump?

Early on in our DSDP/Oasis experience, it was necessary to replace the summer pump, and based on others comments, I was inclined to order a spare one. My thinking was I've got three pumps in the distribution module, and the likelihood for another to go out was reasonably probable. However when I went to get the part number off ComNet, I found that there is only one 'summer' pump (SUMMER PUMP GRI 17651-078 1.0A) and TWO 'winter' pumps (WINTER PUMP GRI 17651-176 2.5A) inside the distribution module cabinet. Has anyone ever had a 'winter' pump failure on a newer model oasis?

All 3 pumps are the same in my 2017. Call ITR.

I replaced a Loop #2 Pump in March. The replacement pump looked just like the Summer Loop Pump AND the Loop Pumps are no longer mounted on a mount plate but instead hang off of the hoses, like the Summer Pump.

I just looked at the ITR website and find five different models listed. What model is Newmar using? Combi, perhaps? If they use different models in different coaches, I'm interested in what they use in the Mountain Aire. I want to order a spare pump to have it on hand if one fails.

From some additional online research, it would appear that it is the Oasis NE-S model that Newmar is using. Sound right?

CH50 it is the u it with 50,000 btu. The NE at 85,000 btu were used when there were 2 showers. Not sure if that is still used.

Oasis pump

Call Oasis (ITR). They are very helpful. 800-993-4402
In my experience, the pump was considerably less to purchase from ITR than Newmar.
I've replaced the circulating pump twice and the summer loop once. I hope it was a case of a bad batch of pumps. They have been working well for a few months now.

I had a circulation pump go out on my Precision Temp hydronic heating system in my Ventana. I bought a replacement pump on eBay. Cost with shipping was about $20. Cost of a pump from Precision Temp was quoted at $450 +. I can burn up quite a few of these pumps for the cost of one fro OEM.
Look on eBay under “hot water circulation pumps”. You might find something you can live with.
I’ve only been through about four months of continuous service on the pump I bought.

Just an update. I called ITR, and they confirmed all three pumps are the same. Sold me a pump for $295. Arrived promptly.

Maybe a stupid question but are the pumps just for the hydronic heat? Are pumps used for hot tap water and shower? Point of question is if I lose a pump(s) will I be taking a cold shower? Havent learned the system ops beyond hitting switches.

If the summer loop pump goes south you will be taking a very cold shower. Don't ask how I know.

The summer loop pump is for hot tap water. If the summer loop pump fails there is a switch in the bay containing the Oasis heater that turns on the hydronic heat pumps (switch is wired to turn all pumps on for filling the system). This will get you hot tap water when the summer loop pump is not working. In the cold weather, if you are using hydronic heat, the "summer" loop pump does not always have to come on for hot tap water.

Thanks for the answer. Good to know. I need to do some familiarization with this system. At the very least a schematic.

Based on ITR drawing, winter and summer pumps have different ITR part numbers.
