I am the proud (I think...) owner of a DSDP 2005 4009 motorhome. This unit has under 1900K on it and when you consider that some 750 of those were on the trip to the dealer from the factory, you can appreciate I have not had much time to enjoy it. Even before I got it home, I had read about the Spartan RSB005-400-001 recall concerning air brakes. My recall notice arrived within days of getting back from the dealer, a trip of about 5 hours.
Today, I took it to the local Spartan dealer for the change. Prior to the change, my gauges were reading about 90 psi when the motorhome was running. They built to that pressure very quickly. According to everything I had been taught in a 2 day intensive course on air brakes, things worked as they should. If I pumped the brakes dropping the pressure below 65 psi, the lights and buzzer went on as I had been taught to expect. Life was good!
Today, after the installation of the new harness for each gauge, the BEST pressure I was getting according to my gauges was about 68-70 psi. This is a far cry from the 90 I had been taught was the correct pressure AND the pressure that had been recorded using the `old' harnesses. My dealer called `Dave' at Spartan. `Dave', after some time, indicated that `there had been a few problems with the new harnesses' and would `overnight' some new harnesses to my dealer. I am told they should be there sometime Thursday morning. Given my track record with dealer promises so far, we'll see.
Questions:
1. Have any of you had a similar problem after the new harnesses were installed?
2. Am I correct in that the pressure my gauges should show when things are working correctly is 90 psi?
3. Is there anything I should be aware of in this process of correcting this problem other than what I have already mentioned?
Again, thanks for all the information and knowledge this group provides.
BTW: Newmar `forgot' to install a table in my unit and completely disregarded my request for a fabric change they had OK'd on some chairs so my success with this coach has not been great so far. Maybe my luck will change.

Rappar, I have heard that the recall repair leaves the pressure readings low. I'm glad to hear Spartan is changing the harness...again. I've opted to wait to have this done until Spartan gets this right.
As to Newmar, I can't imagine that if they ok'd a fabric change and you have any documentation, that they wouldn't honor it. Screwups happen in any manufactering process. Hound your dealer to make sure you get what you paid for. If not, call Newmar Customer Service. They are usually pretty responsive! BTW, the 4009 was our second choice, opted for the 4010...we love it!
Enjoy that coach. Newmar will make it right if the dealer won't!
