Spartan Ball Joint Replacement
I just went to the expense of driving to Charlotte Michigan to Spartan from Kansas City Missouri. It was worth it! They replaced the upper and lower ball joints and an alinement for $1850.00. Not sure what a "new" 2003 Dutch Star drives like, but can not be any better than mine. Extremely nice people!

Were you aware that the Cummins-Onan service center, by Worlds of Fun in Kansas City North off of I-435 & Parvin Rd, is a Spartan certified shop? This is where we had our ball joints done.

Yes, I like the folks out there very much! I use them for service and problems. Their quote on this was not close by a lot! Glad they gave you a better deal than I was quoted. Thanks, David

I recently drove from VA to Charlotte and had the ball joints replaced along with the 44 point inspection. I enjoyed the experience. It was a good break from the winter doldrums and being around the good people there made it worthwhile.

As I stated in a previous post, our ball joints-realignment was done by the Cummins-Onan shop here in the Kansas City area and it was noticeably more that the OP's price of $1850; try $2700+$150 for the realignment. The replacement still leaves a bad taste in my mouth as even after the supplier of the ball joint rubber boots became aware of the inferior quality of the rubber boots, they and Spartan did not notify owners and only absorbed some or a good portion of the cost if you were still under warranty.

Yeah, that's a great price. I paid $2800 a yr. ago. I definitely should've shopped around a little better. And don't get me started on Spartan. They knew of this problem many, many years ago, and decided not to notify owners of the rubber inferiority. They pretty much admitted it to me when I called and raised a little hell with them. I came to the conclusion they figured owners wouldn't be crawling under the front of the coach to check the ball joints, and by the time anyone noticed anything was wrong....the warranty would be up.
