Spartan Service At Newmar Factory
Any thoughts on the cost value compared to having service done at Newmar compared to some where else?

The Spartan factory is only a fairly short distance away. Why not just go there? In 2004 I went to Spartan, then dropped down to Newmar, just a partial days drive away.

X2
We really enjoy going to the Spartan factory for the experts to do their stuff. Also, I highly recommend their 1 week owner's course.

Hi drdonny,
For me, there are several advantages to having the servicing done at Newmar.
1. One stop shop. This might not be important if you were headed North from Newmar anyway.
2. Only one appointment to make and arrange. Sometimes Newmar or Spartan are not completed on time. This requires rescheduling with the other servicer.
3. Having the work done at Newmar eliminates dealing with the "inside sales reps" at Spartan. They are very good at ensuring much more work is done that needed. This needlessly increases the cost. I quit going to Spartan back around 09. This was due to the aggressive sales tactics of their inside sales reps. They tried, for two years, to get more useless and not needed work to do and raise the cost to me. An excellent example is that my generator oil needed changing because it was black! Little did they know I do all my own fluid changes. When I reminded them it was a diesel generator and the oil would be black their response was it was more black than normal! I've watched them work on owners who do not do their own work and do not know their coach. Metaphorically speaking, one can see the sales rep sucking the money out of the owner's pockets.
Any Spartan authorized service center is better than going to their Charlotte facility.
