Has anyone tried to upgrade the radio speakers on the Baystar models. They seem very small with a mediocre sound but does it make sense to put in something bigger or do I need to upgrade the radio as well? I think the reason the 3202 model has such small speakers is because the enclosure is so narrow. Has anyone tried to place the speaker so they direct the sound out the front toward the windshield? Space seems to be an issue. Any other advice on how to get good sounds out of the dash radio would be appreciated.

Most spks I have seen are about 6x9" behind the slots on either side of cabinets. I have upgraded in some of my coachs AR's which have a rich sound was able to use the same mountings locations. I also placed the kitchen spks on the fade control of radio which has the bedroom spks on fade control now. Would require some rewire work to wiring behind panel for your over head fans.
REWIRE SPKS OFF FADE CONTROL go to page #4 and pics and how to is explained.

I'm interested in the response that you might get as I want to upgrade my speakers also. That's going to be one of my projects in '08.

I looked closely at the pictures in 007's list of improvements and saw the same small radio speakers and narrow opening that my coach has. I've decided to test the radio quality first by hooking up some small book shelf speakers and listening to that sound. If it sounds better I will get something more perminent. I like the pictures in 007's that show the speaker enclosure attached to the side wall near the roof. That might work.

Those spks are off the DVD surround sys amp not the coach radio. There is instructions on how to install DVD sys in Quick Tips.
Not sure what radio you have I have a Sony which works very well with some upgraded spks.
