Splendide install in 00 dsdp

The closet for the washer dryer has a 6" high shelf at the floor in the back. The shelf prevents the new washer from sitting flat on the floor. I am sure many of you "doers" have over come this dilemma and I want to simply follow suit. Please help. The better half demands the washer and I will get it installed.
Thanks

Splendide install

Just recently installed a splendide washer and dryer stackable units in my 2000 Dutch Star 3565. It previously had a combo washer/dryer only. There was no shelf in the rear on mine; perhaps this shelf is covering the plumbing etc?
Quickest would be to extend or raise rest of floor to shelf height depending on your plumbing and what's under this "shelf"

If you can't take this 6" shelf out, your options are to build a flat surface equal to the height of this 6" shelf assuming this won't add too much height so the washer won't fit in the closet. The obvious solution would be to remove the offending shelf. You may want to check the thickness of the flooring you plan on putting this machine on. In my KSDP that flooring was 1/4" thick, not near enough to support the weight of the machine I added.

I think the shelf is a plumbing chase but there should be room enough behind the machine for the plumbing to run exposed.

The plumbing is exposed in mine, 2" pvc pipe with trap and a vent pipe to roof

It basically sat on a fiberglass pad with two inch sides, kind of like what a water heater sits on. No hold down strips of any kind. It' was a fairly heavy unit as is the separate washer. It doesn't move.
We had the 2100 series in ours but never used it first hand. The previous owner said it worked fine. The combos do take longer for a full cycle of wash and dry. Whereas the separate units you can start a load and be drying it while washing a second load. We just did s lot of updating. I advertised the combo on IRV2 but sold it local. A lot of 5th wheelers are looking for washers

wsmcycle-

Can't help with the shelf, but I can provide a link to a recent thread, with pictures, for an install in a 1998 Dutch Star.
