On a week-end trip to Indiana to visit our grandson at college this past week-end, an irritating squeak developed in the MH when certain road conditions were present (about half the time). I first thought it was an o/h cabinet or the euro-recliner because I could see them vibrating on rough road. Finally, DW went back in the coach to see if she could discover where it was coming from. It was the entry door squeaking - when she pulled the handle inward, it stopped. Solved the problem temporarily by using the dead bolt lock which seems to hold the door tighter to the frame.

My question - Is there a quick adjustment that can be made to tighten the latch. Can't really see any adjustment on either the striker or the latch and I hate to make a trip to dealer for something this minor. Anybody got an idea?

On my MH the squeek was fixed when I wraped one turn of electrical tape around the bolt-like thing that the striker connects with.

Have a nice day - Darrel

Adjust the striker posts or striker plates inward a little to keep the door from squeaking. The posts can be loosened with an Allen wrench if you have that configuration.

Figured it out today. Put a wrench on hex end of striker stud and loosened it, this allowed it to be moved in/out or up/down to position anywhere you want it. Easy fix to loose door problem - knew there had to be a way. Don't think I want to do the tape fix, not permanent enough but thanks for the tip.

Now for a test drive to prove out my fix.
