I was at Newmar's plant this morning. I saw many '07 Mountain Aires in the yard, but also noticed quite a few '06's in the yard too. All new without tags. Perhaps due to the big change on the Mountain Aire, price too, many will still want the '06.
I didn't see any '06 Essex units in the yard but I'm sure one or two are still around as no '07 were visible outside. There was one '07 Essex insde that I saw.
They seem to be busy with lots of production happening. Good for them, business appears good.

LUG_NUT: Unless there has ben a MAJOR shift in policy at Newmar, every coach is built to fill an order-either a dealer's "stock" order, or a customer's order thru a dealer. Newmar has not been known to build "spec" coaches and hope somebody orders one. I'm guessing what you are seeing is simply finished orders waiting delivery drivers to take them to the dealer who ordered it. ED

That's quite possible Ed. I was just surprised to see so many of each year in their yard. However, I'm pleased to report that the employees of Newmar is still the best people you would ever want to deal with and build your coach.

Ed and Peter,I was contacted today by a dealer near here who I've been dealing with for a friend and the dealer told me he could get his hands on 3 2006 MADP's that another dealer had ordered as floorplan and wants to unload.....I have a buddy that I am helping buy a leftover 2006 MADP,as he's not wanting to jump into the Essex....Therefore,I do believe there may some "exceptions" to the "order only when sold unit" scenario.
I've talked with two NC Newmar dealers and I know for a fact they both have surplus 2006's on hand....

Per the TOS of irv2 I'd rather disclose the dealers names in a PM query if interested....

I guess it's no big thing today having dealers want to unload product and the manufacturer still holding it as I noticed Travel Supreme had a yard full of stock too. Thanks for the update Bob. I think things are still working extremely well for Newmar.

Any coaches that are at the Newmar plant are sold units either to the dealer or customer. Newmar does not build units(coaches, fifth wheels) without and order. Ed.S

Maybe there will be some outstanding buys for us, on leftover 06 models.
I've been looking around and see a lot of 05, and 06 models out there from all manufacturers.

Ed, I was told by John Howard of Howard RV today that the only "exception" is end of year when Newmar has leftover chassis....He was able to pick up three MADP's as Newmar used up the chassis.

I was at dealer today with my buddy who bought a 2005 MADP 4304 today...

Sorry....I was stuck on 2006,it's actually a 2005....

rebelsbeach, can I gather from your comments that Newmar will not build a current model year coach on a prior year chassis?

Ummm....errr.....cough,cough....gasp....

Never got "that" technical with John Howard,as the conversation came about after he and I were talking about what was "available" from Newmar....

It was then that he said that Newmar uses up the chassis they have.....

As far as a late model coach on "last year's" chassis, maybe that's a question someone else can answer for you.....He NEVER said that, nor implied that.

Under the "small world" category,I just received a call from "ichntogo" from the forum....Seems the neighbor of a buddy of his is the "seller" of the coach to my friend...

It's a small world after all....
