What function does the "Stop" light symbol (and buzzer) on the driver's instrument panel cluster supposed to tell you or indicate? I checked in the Spartan Book and the Index said to look at pgs. 1-11 & 1-12 but unfortunately, these pages are missing from the manual (I'm the 2nd owner).

I posted a similiar message on the Irv2 Allison Forum but haven't had any replies so I thought I would throw it out to the Big World.

Stop engine light and buzzer on the Essex means just that (stop and shut down); and I've had it go off twice (fan).

soricobob,
My 'Stop' instrument light came on Monday and when I backed off the accelerator, the light went off and the buzzer stopped and I kept on going and the mh worked just fine. All the other gauges indicated things were 'normal'. I was returning from having my toad equipped with the M&G brake system but I doubt if that would be causing any problems. Also, correction on mh year. It's a '2000'.

Most of the "problems" initiated by buzzers and lights are "recorded" in your Cummins black box. The next time you are at a dealer who has such equipment, they should be able to trace the readout and, hopefully, solve the issue.

I have the SilverLeaf software that allows you to see all warnings and is worth the price IMHO. But, in this case, did you look at the gauges? Mine has a habit of hitting the temp warning if I start on a cold morning with steep grades. If I let off the throttle the temp drops immediately and the alarm stops.

I love the software though. It is easy to connect to the data port and then you know a lot more about your coach.

Nathan,
I went over to the MH today and checked my Allison Diagnostic Code and it gave me a 0-L-70 code = Sump Fluid Temperature Too Low. This was the code after I let the mh idle for about 5 minutes. I would think if I were on the road that the temp would be in the 160-200 degree Farenheit range. I will call the local Allison service center on Monday and thanks for your input.
