Storing a collapsible ladder on the genny, Thoughts?

It looks like the collapsible ladder will fit on top of the genny. I have a dense foam mat to put under the ladder and would strap it down with a Ratchet strap. Any thoughts?

My 15' one is stored in a bay alongside one of the slideout trays, did have to add a hook and bungie cord though.

I wouldn't put a flammable mat on top of my generator. I might just strap it down hard so it doesn't rattle.

Hi John
I believe there was a post about storing a collapsible ladder on a generator a couple of months ago. I don't remember what others had to say. My two concerns would be. Not being able to see or feel it coming lose and getting road sand/water all in the ladder. I keep my collapsible ladder under my bed, clean and dry. I also like to keep all heavy stuff under my bed. Just my view, hope that helps.

Any chance of a picture? I’m pretty much a visual learner and just can’t see this in my mind.

Wondering if it will create a trapped heat problem.

Next time I'm at the coach. It fits in the bay next to the tool peg board bay. Put the wide base in first. Great place and uses otherwise unused space.

If you ever read the HOOT's threads you would run into their MOD's many of them placed in their coach's for ladders, sewer pipes and many other ideas.
This link is only 1/3d of them so look back and forth in this long thread.

It's hard to photograph but here it is above the frame in the bay.

Personally, I see not reason why not. I would not put anything under it but if you secure it, it should ride just fine.
I once left my 3/8" drive ratchet on top of the generator while doing some maintenance. After driving most of the summer over 3K miles, I opened the front end to check the fluids on the generator. Low and behold, my 3/8" drive ratchet that I thought was lost, was laying right where I left it.
