Had this coach since June 2010 - noticed the other day some water dribbling from the pressure valve as LP was doing its job - read in Newmar owner book (or Suburban Pamphlet) that this might be normal - Put the water heater on Electric and no dribbling - should I get this checked ?

Thanks - !

Hi Renden,
This also happens to me. I do not worry about it. At a convenient time drain some (1/2?) water out of the HWH. Then close it all up and turn the water back on. I think the occasional dripping is from the air pocket that is suppose to be in the top of the tank has gone away. Once it is reestablished, there is no more dripping.

GaryKD is right on the money when he says that the expansion bubble at the top of the tank has been absorbed.
A permanent fix for this is an accumulator/expansion tank. My last rig had the dripping problem until I installed one of these. I also installed one in my current rig to prevent the problem. These expansion tanks will also store some water to reduce water pump cycling when not on city water.
This expansion tank permits water to fill it rather than create excess pressure in the water heater as the water heats up and expands.
You can purchase large ones at Lowes or Home Depot but I just use the small ones from Camping World. The one I use is priced at $43.

Hi hoppers4,
Renden's coach should already have an expansion tank installed. Newmar installs these in their coaches.

There's no expansion tank in my 2007 DSDP.

Hi Dirk,
First the important stuff, congrats on hitting 10K posts. Adding another camp fire will help you stay warm this winter.

Guess that is another assumption down the drain. I thought for sure Newmar had installed this, but I guess not. I hope I'm not wrong too many more times. I know my demerit count is piling up.

As your demerit count goes up, we start deleting your posts.

Thanks for the congrats. I was so mouthy, they made me an admin.

Back to the OP. Your advice is correct as I have had to replace the air bubble a couple of times.

Hi Cathy&Paula,
For the cleaning task I use Car Care, Detail Supplies, Garage Organization, Car Accessories - Griot's Garage 800-345-5789 first. Immediately followed with Car Care, Detail Supplies, Garage Organization, Car Accessories - Griot's Garage 800-345-5789 .

With the cleaner I use one of those kitchen sponges that is soft on one side and much more coarse on the other side. I use the coarse side. For the was, I wipe it off with a terry cloth towel.
