Well I got YELLED at last Thursday by DiVer cause I don't have a Surge Protector... OK he didn't yell at me. But he and others said I need one... I have 50amp.....
Where can I get one and how much should I expect to pay?
Any Advice? Thanks Lee

Hi! We just purchased one at the Tampa Super Show. Our friends have been using it for 4 years and were very happy. We liked it better then the Camping World ones. We purchased the EMS-HW50C from Progressive Industries. It was installed in our electrical compartment. I could have installed it, but was too lazy. The cost for the unit was $389.00 install was another $80.00. We purchased it from Dale Sumner (RV Medic) who also did the install. Phone # 352.206.9086 Great install. Progressive's website is WWW.progressiveindustries.net Good Luck. Any other questions let me know. Paul

To; All re; surge guard;
I have used the 50 amp plug in surge guard I purchased from Camping World since 2000.
I had dealer shorten the 50 amp cord to have the recepticle inside bay and use another 50 amp cord to plug into post.
These units are still available at CW in 30 and 50 amp, plug in or hard wire.
I don't have CW catalog handy, but I do know they are available.
Hope this info helps,=== AIME==== AJBJRVERS

Lee, PLEASE be certain you have a 50 amp model and inasmuch as you get what you pay for these days,I'd also love to hear where you found such a deal...
Even the hard wired models that rvupgrades sells aren't $125 cheaper...
Power protection isn't something to skimp on...

The electrical surge protector and shock shield provides GFCI protection and line monitoring. Protects the entire RV against surge and overload; alleviates the need to protect each appliance separately. Provides 1750 joules surge suppression, 6500 amps maximum surge current, over/under voltage, open neutral and miswired pedestal protection. Male and female cord ends are standard 50 amp RV configuration, auto-reset with over- and under-voltage protection, and keyed bypass
I got it at rvpartsoutlet (it was on special)
fixed typo
