DirecTV installers have to go through the install and get one or more "success codes" from the DirecTV system which serve as the proof that they did their job. When our dish was installed I recall that the readings were initially a bit low so I ran the Trav'ler through its paces and it re-aligned itself and the readings were adequate for them to proceed. The Trav'ler is quite capable of meeting the necessary signal strength requirements. If yours is not there may be an issue, but my guess is that your installer didn't want to be bothered.

DirecTV techs can out today and installed the SWM8 and everthing is working great!! Got a couple of really good techs and they worked for about 4 hours before everything was installed; had a faulty cable run to bedroom TV however they were able to work around it and now we are good to go.
