Tall toilet

For those of you with bad knees or knee replacements, what do you do about the toilets? I have knee problems and may end up with knee replacements. It s hard getting off the toilets at home, so I plan to replace them with taller ones. Has anyone done anything with the macerater toilets in the Dutchstar?

It sucks getting old! I guess it could be worse.

Mark

Easy enough to buy a seat riser. About 25 bucks most places. Goes between the toilet and seat. Be aware however that the Dometic mounting hole spacing is not standard. I bought a heated seat and even though it had provisions for two different spacings, US and European, Dometic is neither. I had to glue my seat on.

I had a knee replacement Dec 29, 2017. No real problems getting up even this soon after.

I removed the front bathroom 14" toilette that was on the 4" raised floor and installed it with a regular size 17" toilette and the extra height has been real nice for me but the wife don`t like it because her feet don`t touch the ground.
Good Luck

I would not recommend the seat riser. I tried it after major spine surgery and it was a mess to keep clean. I changed toilet to a handicap version. Happy now.

For those in this situation of having trouble getting up off the toilet, if ordering a new coach just have Newmar build a platform for the toilet. The wife and I both have trouble standing up off the toilet (just age related and not exercising enough) so we had Newmar build a 3" (started with 2" but decided that wouldn't be enough) platform. Works great for the last 3 years of use.
