Hey all,

I have a "convenience" question here. Where is a good spot to tap into the courtesy light wires to get power to the passenger side of the coach? We have a 2001 DSDP 3852. We have three courtesy lights, all on the driver's side. One in the bedroom, one in the bathroom by the shower and one in the galley by the pantry. I want to get power from there over to the passenger side of the RV. Ideally, I'd like to get it to the galley area and under the passenger side bedroom window (to the drawers).

The end goal is to add LED strip lights under the counter tops. We'll also be converting the existing courtesy lights to LED, so the total amperage should drop considerably. Ideally, I'm wanting the same courtesy light switches to operate the whole batch. Anyone know of a decent place to tap into this and get wires to the opposite side of the coach. I figure they've got to be under the coach in the bays somewhere, but I have no clue where.

While you are waiting for a real answer, here is something I found last night.

When tracking a water leak to the tub drain source, I found the wiring for the courtesy light in the bathroom. In my 2000 DSDP, there is a louvered vent in the verticle front of the tub, under the shower door. Removing the vent gives access to the tub drain piping AND the wiring to the courtesy light which is just adjacent to the vent.

I didnot check this out, but, it looks like that wiring also feeds the courtesy light in the kitchen/bathroom hall.

This, of course, doesnt help getting power to the passenger side, but you might be able to trace it back to an area that could be tapped. Might not be an easy fix.
