We've done the car seat on the couch several times. I do put a bed pillow (long pillow) between the car seat and the wall. If there is an impact, the child will hit their head on the pillow versus the slide wall.

Will have 2 of our young grandsons (2 & 6) with us in the 2015 Ventana 4002 for a week on a trip from OH to TN and back. Understand the only place to put their car seats is going to be on the couch facing sideways. Does anyone leave the TV televator up while driving so the boys can be entertained? Searched my manuals and saw nothing on it.
Some fire departments or other local resources may be able to install the car seats or advise how to install in order for them to protect the children in a collision. they may not have an answer for you beyond putting one of the car seats in the passenger seat. I sat through some "car seat classes" as part of my job and it's a real chore to do it right, in a car... Not sure if there is data out there to support any particular sitting position for children in a class a.
