Televator Help Dutch Star 4041

Just moved in to the new RV. Televator worked fine last night, went up and down with no problem. Put it down today to lower shades. Will not go back up, the right corner is sticking. Will be calling Newmar when we get back to rig. But just wondering if anyone has had this happen and know a solution. Thanks,

That TV is just bolted to a bracket that goes up and down. Probably one of the bolts has loosened. If you can get at it to tighten it that, would be good. It might not be that easy to get at. If you can't see it, you'll have to remove the trim piece behind the sofa to get at it. I watched the techs do it to get at the wires. But, you really should be able to get at it. Just push the tv straight so it will go up, then the whole bracket is exposed.

Thanks, Bill. I was afraid I would have to go back there. Not sure this old body will contort like that.

It wasn't so much a contortionist job as a get the particle board that was perfectly fitted to the space out. On the 4041 you get to the TV area by removing three shelves and a backer board from the cabinet on the right hand side of the dining table. Newmar installed the cabinet so well that once the 4 screws were removed we actually had to cut the board along the edges in order to remove it! Once removed we could see that all screws were tight. The edge of the TV had actually moved over to the right and was catching. Since we had it opened we added an extension cord so the power would stay plugged in. We had to have the dealer re plug it once and the power cord was already loose (within three days). We are going to tidy up the board before reinstalling, and cut a little more off the top so it is easier to get out next time ---- I'm SURE there will be a next time!

On our 4018 televator the cable was rapped around the tv,preventing it from raising.

For some reason that doesn't surprise me. Our power cable (transformer) was hanging down when the TV was in the up position. No wonder it came loose. We added an extension, made sure there was enough play in the line for movement and Velcroed it to the back wall so it won't move when we travel. Hopefully this will work.

Oh, and the dealer actually had the tech come over to the rig (we are in a park about 2 miles away). He did find a loose bolt so hopefully the tv won't catch again.
