Televator Travel Adjustment

19 DS 4018 Is there a way to make the televator behind the sofa go higher? I would guess there is an adjustment for travel some where. As it is you have to hold your hand over your head to get the IR pickup on the Sony TV to work. Then of course the front TV also turns on.

We had the same problem with our 2019 3717 Ventana . We moved the IR blaster sensor to the left of the o in Sony and life is good.

The sensor is looks like a small black dot that is wired to the back of the TV. Ours was glued to the bottom center of the tv frame before we moved it.
Would send a picture but the coach is in for warranty work. Recommend you move the IR blaster sensor around until you find a spot the works and glue it there.
Hope this helps,
Benn

Mine does not have the IR blaster connected. The connection on the back of the TV for the blaster is to operate another device like a DVD according to the manual.
Is the port labeled IR on the back of the TV a sender or receiver port?

Sorry I can't help with the televator adjustment. I'm sure there's one. Mine goes high enough that the entire bottom of the TV is above the countertop.

As for the front TV, I tape over the IR receiver to prevent the front TV from working from the remote while operating the side one.

Not sure. My coach is in for warranty work so I don't have access today. I can check on Tuesday if you don't have a fix by then. Mine came delivered with the IR blaster. The tech at the dealer said this is a common problem. Might call Newmar to see if your should have been delivered with IR blaster installed or if they have an easy fix.

Did you check your televator's manual to see if there is an adjustment? Mine adjusts for height via a wired remote. Once set it stays set. After that we pair the remote to the lift and it goes to the correct setting.

We also have a 2019 4018 and experience the same issue. My solution is somewhat dependent on where you are sitting (we have dual recliners) and may be dependent on the color and finish of your cabinets.

WARNING: This solution will not work for those who flunked Geometry.

Sitting directly across from the television, try reflecting the signal from your handset off the bottom of the overhead cabinetry to the eye of the television. Works for me!

I believe if you hold the televator switch up for a few seconds, you can adjust the height. Seems like I read that somewhere. Owner's manual maybe.

Yes, that is correct. You hold the telecaster “up” button and the televator goes into set mode, but, beware, it is a pain in the #$** to set,

Funny you ask ... I am sitting in the new service center campground right now waiting for service to start tomorrow morning. Your post is almost verbatim of one of my service item requests. I will let you know what they say.

Ok then it is in set mode what do you do then? Have you actually used this mode?

I tried it on mine but it did nothing. I did not get a manual for the televator with mine.
