I have added this link to post # 48 with the dealer links so everything is together and you can save it for future reference.
If you have looked at that link before some things have been added like pricing, who to talk to and so forth.
I will add this thread also to the CORP link.

If you want to save a particular post click on number and save in favorites or add in a post instead of a quote.

We had a totally different experience at Midway RV, maybe because we were looking at used models or they didn't believe we were serious buyers? When we returned from the test drive I needed to make a call so I told the salesperson that we would join him in his office when done. When we entered he gave us a piece of paper with the full asking price of the MH minus our trade in, then reached out to shake hands and thanked us for coming in. There was no attempt at negotiations. We left and are still looking for our used Newmar.

Pepper2, I would not let that deter me. Don't try to read their minds.

I would come back the next day with a written counter offer and be sure he takes it up for review and bypass him if he won't.

I see the process as a bit of a dance and I don't worry about what they think of me because I'm not planning on being on their "sales team."

A written offer, IMHO, is one step in a negotiation process that feels like a fixed price situation, but really is not.

Think of it like a bull against a bull fighter, and you are the bull. You want to get a fair shot, you got to work hard. But you can't get confused when they dangle their cape in front of you or you end up like most of the bulls - meat on the table. They know their business and often win the negotiations because most buyers can't control their reactions and emotions, and are often not on top of the dealer pricing routines because we never worked in the rv sales business...but we can research how it is done...but we still have to estimate because we don't get to know what they paid for the used rv and don't know how much pressure they are under "today" to buy or sell, and the condition of the dealership as to stuff like flooring and optimum number/kind of models on the lot, and their cash flow needs.

Today he appears unmovable (testing you), tomorrow he's hot to sell.

What I don't get was the original theme of this thread. That someone who owned a Newmar and had 3.5 years of trouble free camping would get into such a state of agitation or irritation with a "Newmar dealer" and then say they are done with Newmars. That's like having a horse, getting mad at your "horse veterinarian," then saying you are done with horses, then find a cow veterinarian so you can definitely have something better, because obviously it is all about the vet, as if the veterinarian determined your choice between a horse or a cow.

And no, I'm not saying a Newmar is a horse and the other rv is a cow.

In other words, what the heck does the veterinarian have to do with my choice of horse, dog, cat, cow, or fish. Now an elephant might be different because you might need a specialist. After all, how many veterinarians want to deal with a constipated elephant?

Just got off the phone with Midway RV. Another IRV2 member brought my comments to the dealerships attention. The salesperson called to apologize for any hurt feelings we may have left with. He was very nice to go thru the trouble of looking up and locating a person he spoke with a month ago to mend a perceived broken fence! I have a renewed appreciation for Midway RV, and thank you Chad. Goes to show some dealers DO care.

There is no pricing at this link.

I saw poor reviews for this dealer online. Do you really think they are great?

I am in the market and very concerned about choosing a dealer and thinking of going pretty far to find a good one. We are in the NYC tri-state area and Albany is not bad if they are good.

No I do not, I am just using this link so members will have a idea of coach pricing after selecting their options.

Welcome to the forum and irv2 Rvdarren.
If you need a Brochure and Owners Guide for a coach let me know and you may want to start a new thread with your questions so we can let this old thread not confuse members, I will add this link in the NEWMAR CORP sticky top of forum now that I have found it again. Thanks for the question.

Discussions on this dealer is in this thread if your interested.

Kind of jumped into this thread towards the end but felt I had to mention the great experience we have had with North Trail. From the original negotiation to the sales transaction, test drives, delivery, initial service, return for service after a year or more had passed, parts department, access to whomever we needed at every level of the organization from the top on down...it has been nothing but great. We even had an out of warranty mechanical issue that the factory techs attending the Tampa Super Show couldn't identify or resolve. In fairness to them we were literally out in a field trying to identify the issue. When they couldn't do it Newmar authorized further diagnosis by North Trail at their (Newmar's) expense. North Trail's techs identified the problem and had it fixed in less than an hour. Say what you will, and I understand no one is perfect, but I'll do business with them again. Hope your experiences, wherever you go, are good ones. Happy travels.

I too had a great experience with North Trail in Ft. Myers after trying 2 other dealers. Apathy is rampant out there with many dealers but NT took a lot of time with us to make sure we were happy with our purchase. I'm not a shill for them but they have a huge inventory, conscientious sales and staff, and great follow up. Although we live in Tennessee we will travel there for service needs when possible.
