Thanks to this forum

I'm glad I found this forum

Read through it fairly regularly and remember seeing some posts regarding slide motors and the mounting bolts being loose and potentially causing some expensive repairs.

We just picked up our 2005 DS in the spring and am still getting familiar with things.

While out at the coach tonight and getting it ready for the next trip, I was looking around in the storage compartments when I recalled the slide motor posts, so I thought I better check mine. Sure enough all four were backed out 1/8" - 1/4". Took them out one at a time, put blue lock-tite on them and tightened them back up.

So much for the dealers end to end thorough inspection.

Thank you to this forum and the helpful people that post to it. Hopefully I will be able to had some constructive posts in the future to help someone else.

Doug

Has an '02 DSDP for 13 years and never had a problem with loose bolts on the slide motors.

I was at Newmar a few weeks ago and they checked my bolts per a service bulletin. They added lcktitecto some, so they may have been loose.

Never been a fan of PDI's done by the used coach dealer. You'd be better off paying to have the coach inspected by an indepented inspector and it would cost far less than paying the dealer to do it. Of course all the dealers will tell you that an outside inspection isn't really necessary, as the want to move the unit as quickly as possible.
