The Best Newmar Model Names
Through the years Newmar class A coaches have been offered in a variety of model names.
The Star Series:
Kountry Star
Bay Star
All Star
Canyon Star
Dutch Star
The Aire Series:
Kountry Aire
Mountain Aire
London Aire
King Aire
Well that's some. But the most unique stand-alone name, Essex, is probably the best name of the bunch. It just sounds classier than any of the others.
Now the Kountry series is mystery. A spinoff of the KOA Kampers?? I guess if we think of it as Country Air, it makes sense, likewise for the Mountain Air. But, London Aire? Isn't that usually fog? Oh and King Aire? What's that? Does the King have his own air?
Now the Star Series works, Well, perhaps not so well with the Kountry. It has that K thing again.
But, Essex! In my opinion, has to be the winner in the best model name for a Newmar class A coach.
So, what's your take?

Wow! I forgot the New Aire! That expensive little diesel. I don't recall the Dutch Aire. The North Star rings a bell, but...................I just don't recall...........?

Dutch Aire was made for only two years, 2008 & 2009 (I think) and it was a bit controversial because it was less expensive than the DSDP had become and many loyal DS buyers were upset that their choice had been downgraded.
I'm thinking there was also a Grand Star Class A and is was front engine- both gasser and diesel.
FWIW the Newmar fivers mostly shared the same names, but I think there was also an American Star trailer at some point.

Saw one this summer on the Oregon Coast. Assumed it was a gasser because of the front engine. Didn't think it might have been a FRED.

Don't forget about the Ventana!! I guess someone in marketing was looking out the window or down their nose (ventana de la nariz) when they landed on the name.

Since ESSEX seems to be a winner, how about some more English county names..YORKSHIRE, CORNWALL, SOMERSET, SURREY......

Naw...the King is still tops when it comes to names as everyone know who makes it and what you are talking about; best of the mid-line coaches even if it does cost a piece of the Mint!

Naw, those won't work......Yorkshire is a pudding, Cornwall sounds like it might be a Winnebago (Iowa), Somerset is in NJ, and the Amish use buggies, not Surreys. Hope you know I'm just kidding and obviously not a marketing genius.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Dutch Star started as a small travel trailer for Newmar before it became a motorized unit, as was the Mountain Aire a towable before motorized. There was also the London Aire class C model.
As for the 5th wheel coaches, ones not mentioned thus far are the Cypress and Torrey Pine.
Regards,
W.D.

Well ESSEX itself is a somewhat working class county so am surprised Newmar chose that. I was born in NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, but that probably wouldn't fit across the front of the motorhome
