Thermostat Not Working

I have a strange situation going on. We camped this last weekend in very cold weather, 14 degrees F. Anyway the LP heater worked fine, it responded to the temperature setting and seemed to be working correctly. Upon traveling home, I lowered the furnace temp to about 50 degrees as I was going to be using the dash heat. As I pulled into the driveway I noticed the LP furnace was on, I thought this was strange as I know I set the temp to 50 and the inside of the coach was in the mid 60's. I turned the thermostat down to 40 and the furnace continued to run. I waited quite some time and it didn't shut down. I turned the switch off which closed the LP valve and after cool down the fan shut off. I flipped the power switch on, temp still set at 40, coach temp mid 60's and the furnace again began producing heat. Regardless of the temp setting it was always calling for heat. I tried the reset procedure for the Duo Therm CC with no change, I cycled 12v power, no change. I grabbed the 5 button controller from my other motorhome and the furnace functioned exactly the same, "always calling for heat regardless of temp or settings" I went out this morning, turned on the power and the thermostat functioned correctly, I powered it off and went to work. I tried it this evening and again it is calling for heat regardless of temp. Sorry for the long post. Has anyone experienced this and if so, how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but you may have a faulty furnace control module. You might want to remove the outside access to your furnace and check for any disconnected wires.

The control module is also located in that area. Several years ago we had to replace the control module on our furnace.

Good luck and safe travels...

I had a few strange things happen like the AC running when heat was supposed to. I reset the thermostat and it fixed it. Sounds more like a stuck relay in your situation.

I too was wondering if it may be a stuck relay. I will try to troubleshoot this weekend.

Thanks for the reply.

Try pushing the up and down buttons at the same time fill ff comes on the display. It's like a reset button and have used it 2 or 3 times on our 04 Essex.

Hi Tom, I already tried that and the display read FF. My understanding if it reads EE there is an issue with the communication cable. Anyway that didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion though.
