The red lens on the third brake light came off my 07 Dutch Star and is lost. In looking closely at the light I can see that the lens was "glued" only on one side. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, where can I get just a lens. A new light assembly costs $75-$80. Newmar said they only have the complete assembly in stock.

Dennis,
Are you still under warranty? Newmar should fix this. If you are not under warranty, consider making an appeal to Newmar. This should not have happenned to an 07 coach.

I have and 06 mountain air, the third brake light leak and had water inside. I bought one from newmar for $75.00. Had one $%^&*() of a time replace the light. The screws would not move, I had to drill the head off and use vice grips from the back side to remove the screws. And to top thing off, I disassemble the light, drain the water, clean the light up and reassemble. And the light worked, now I have two. I have notice that you and I are not the only ones with this promblem.

I have a 2007, MAD. I have gone through 4 sets of tail-liights, since November, 2007. Newmar has changed one set, and the dealer, all the other. They seem to be missing some type of ruber gasket, or the installer is not putting them on; so water fills them. Than goodness, they have all been under warranty.
The last time the dealer repalce one of them. they scratched the coach; and had to repaint the area. I agree, it looks like a bad design, to replace on your own.
