Thumbs up for Sky River RV service

There's a lot of complaining and problems reported here regarding authorized Newmar service (and I've been one of them), so here's the opposite -- a GOOD experience with an authorized Newmar service shop on the Central California Coast -- Sky River RV in Paso Robles, CA.

I blew out the right front HWH hydraulic leveling jack on the second day of an almost 3 month trip (fluid all over the place). When we got to our first long-term destination (Morro Bay), I called Sky River RV and made an appointment to have it checked and repaired. They were very friendly and professional on the phone and said that they were fully booked, but made an appointment for almost a month later.

When I arrived for the appointment, they were ready and waiting. They took the coach in and within an hour reported back that I needed a new HWH jack cylinder, that Newmar had it in stock, and that they'd have it within two weeks.

They ordered it, it arrived on time, and they installed it within the time they'd estimated (at the lower end of that time actually). They didn't leave any stains on the floor or any other "bad" things. They didn't even move the driver's seat position or steering wheel position.

And the jack works again -- and has worked for over a month now.

I don't think I could have asked for more -- well, except for not having to wait for a month for the first appointment -- and their labor rate is expensive -- the most expensive I've experienced. But they did the job right -- and ontime.

Based on that experience, I'll certainly return there for more service if I'm near them -- and I recommend them for other Newmar owners in need of service on the Central California Coast.

We have used them twice for recent work on our BS3401 and had a similar good experience. They are very busy, but tell you this up front and get your MH back to you as promised.

Any time you have a dealer for good or bad service write a Service Review for other members to review when on road.
Were they a dealer also?

OK, didn't know about that link. Will do. And yes, Sky River RV is a Newmar dealer and they have brand new Newmars for sale on the lot. They actually have THREE dealerships in this area, but only the Paso Robles location has the service department.

Service

SR also services coaches and Newmar at their Pismo Beach location. I was just there a month ago for a factory recall issue. Josh is the Service Manager there and very knowledgeable.

Interesting. When I called they said only the Paso Robles location could do the service. Maybe that's because my service required a big lift to remove the leveling jack -- and the Pismo location doesn't have such a lift?

Don't know. But good to hear their Pismo location can also do some service -- and that they're also good.
