Couple of questions, our coach seems to ride great in reference to the air bags, ie: smooth road with dips and humps that could make the coach "bounce". However if you are on a rougher surface you can feel every inconsistency in the road (patches and pot holes". Our coach has a 132,000 miles on it. We've only had it about a year and I doubt the shocks have ever been replaced. It has Goodyear tires that I'm about to replace and would like suggestions on what brand you prefer for best ride. Also I'm guessing that replacing the shocks may be a good move too???
Thanks in advance,
Dean Miller.

Dean, If your setting you tire pressures , according to your weights & manufacturers rec-commendations, and still getting a rough ride then shocks would be the next / least expensive step. How is the dating on the tires ? Several threads in Class A motorhome discusion on reading the dates, checking for side wall issues, ( surface cracking, etc.) Kind of stuck on Michelin, myself , but you'll get a lot of responce with regard to price, and issues with any brand. I've only had my coach a year and it had good dated Michelin's on it. My last 3 trucks came with Goodyears and I always went Michelins when the Goodyears wore out, and got twice the service life.

The tires are 6 years old. Really not showing any sidewalk cracking or aging. I run 120 lbs in them which seams stiff but that's the recommended pressure. I'm really almost more concerned about the ride than how many miles theyre good for since in most cases motor home tires wear out from age before the tread is gone.
Thanks for the response,
Dean

Running 120 pounds in the tires is probably over inflating them and that causes a rough ride. You said 120 lbs is the recommended pressure. Who recommended 120 lbs?
You need to weigh your motorhome (preferably by wheel position) and use the tire manufacturer's inflation chart for your tires and weights. I would also check the ride height because if its off it can cause a rough ride and handling problems.

I agree 120 psi is probably too much. Weigh and use the tire manufacturers inflation chart.

If you're using the chart posted in the coach that is only correct if you are loaded to the max, front and rear OR you've never weighed the rig. Get it weighed as loaded for travel then consult the weight/pressure charts for you specific tire.

Definitely weigh the rig and inflate based on weight. I run Goodyear 670 2715 70R 22.5. Based on weight, I run 115 psi front and 95 psi rear. I could probably drop the front to 110.
