Tire Pressure

Getting my coach weighed correctly next Thursday but was wondering what pressure is OK until then.

2013 Ventana 4018 (Tag) 22.5 tires. Not full time but also not careful with weights in the coach because I don't have to. Not reckless either. Usually run with all tanks empty or nearly so.

Pressure is now 105 in the steers and 95 in the 6 in the back. Seems to handle just fine. Am I close, or way off. I have seen so many threads about tire pressure that I confused myself. Which my DW says is NOT hard.....I tend to disagree

X-OEM-

In the absence of weighing, use the pressures listed (by the manufacturer) on the label inside the coach.

Guessing at tire pressures is the wrong approach! Either get corner weights and adjust pressures per the tire manufacturer's recommendation, or run the pressures Newmar lists on the label in the coach. Both of those approaches have some rational basis behind them. Running any other tire pressures has no basis in fact and should be cause for concern.

From the 6 tires back, I make that you have a tag axle.
What you can do , when not weighed, is find the seperate GAWR's of the 3 axles and the maxload AT "max" pressure given on sidewals.
Use for the drive axle the dual load maxload.
Then calculate lineair the needed pressure.
Then you can even drive fully loaded wihout overheating the tires

You maybe pretty close to pressure required but until your weight use as others have said the label on wall.
You should also have full gas tank and water and coach loaded with the stuff you will be carrying.
This link will have more info on tires.
Another important link for you.
All the links below in my signature have answers for your Newmar.

The label on the wall says 120 pounds in all 8 tires which based on reading a lot of threads on tire pressure seemed awfully high. I fully realize that until I weigh all 4 corners I will not be certain.

I based my "guess" from reading threads where people with the same tires and type of coach weighed their corners and then stated their recommended weights.

I am getting the actual weights shortly however and am parked until then.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

Forgot tp advice to add 10% to the weights for unbalance R/L.
But on the same plate of your pressure advices mosply also gawr' s ate given.
And as long as you havent weigh you can use that.
The vehicle makers ise them too but dont add 10% and calculate with a formula that comes to lower pressures.

Hi X-OEM,
Based on what you said in the OP, you should be fine with the 105 and 95. I am fully loaded. Run 105 in the steer and 90 in the rear. The coach has been four corner weighted many times. After you get the four corners weighted, I'll bet you can reduce the PSI.

Do not go below 85 PSI. This is the minimum PSI Michelin recommends for our tires.

You can't really know what psi until you do get weighed. Based on the year of your coach, and the fact you are just now concerned about your tires psi, I assume the coach is new to you. If it is then I certainly would not worry about changing anything especially since you are getting weighed in the near future. On the other hand, if you have had the coach for 5 years and are just now worrying about the correct psi then waiting another week won't matter obviously.

GaryKD - Thanks for that info. That certainly makes reading through countless threads here and other boards well worthwhile.
