Tireminder Wireless Transmitters

Hi All,

I currently have the Tireminder for my current RV/toad and I'll need to order two more transmitters for the DS4018 tag axle. They come in brass or aluminum with the following restriction for the aluminum transmitters:

These are not designed for RV's or vehicles that have brass, nickel plated brass or stainless steel valves stems

Can you tell me what kind of valve stems come with the 2015 DS freightliner chassis?

Thanks,

-Tom

Tom,

I'm sure the problem is not the stem but the dissimilar metals.

this will solve the problem.

What Is Eck Corrosion Prevention Coating? - Eck by EckŪ

So every six months or so just remove them and recoat them. May be the first time would be at two months then judge the time table from there.

Protects electrical connections as well.

I would buy the brass sensors, especially with all those warnings with the aluminum. My Tire Tracker system (TireMinder is same system with different name) comes only in brass. I had aluminum sensors on a previous system and was plagued with leaks and sensors coming loose.

tomakat, AFChap: Have either of you had any sensors go bad and had to be replaced. I have a 10 sensor system and I have 3 or 4 that don't give a signal. I have replaced all the batteries and I have a repeater in the rear of my coach (replaced those batteries also). My system is about 4 years old now.

Go with the brass sensors. The Al ones will eventually bond to the valve stems on the DS. They are either Stainless or nickel plated brass, definitely NOT aluminum.

Hi Mike,

I have 10 sensors that I've had since 2011 and all the sensors are working fine. I think I've replaced a couple of batteries, but that's about it. My charging cable did go bad and their customer service replaced it free of charge. When I wash the RV and jeep, I try to make sure that I never shoot the sensors. It's been rock solid, except for an occasional false alert.
