Toad Braking

I am driving a 40' MADP and towing a Ford Ranger Pickup Truck. I have thought about getting a braking system like a "Brake Buddie" installed in the Pick Up. Does anyone have any experience with which system seems to work the best. I have heard that some systems will activate the brakes on the toad when the road conditions are bumpy and really make matters worse. Thanks for any feedback.

I have the Roadmaster air brake but, if I were getting one today it would be the Air Force One by SMI. I think cost is about the same but the SMI is much smaller.

I had a "brake box" that I replaced last year with the SMI Stay-in-Play. In my opinion you should go with the SMI product.

I have US Gear Unified Tow Brake... works great. But, if I had it to do over I would look at M&G or Air Force 1.

I have the M&G supp brake system with breakaway. I just got it this last Monday and it was installed at the Athens, Texas home office. It worked great on the way back to Dallas.

Another vote for M&G. Mine has 34,000 miles with no issues; just like my Blue Ox, and the H2, all more reliable than anything else.

I tow an F-250 that is 10,000 and first used the top line BrakeBuddy and did not like it. It only brakes in hard brake situations. If you want it, I will sell it to you at 50% retail (used for 4 months). I switched to the M&G system that cost me the same as the BrakeBuddy. However, it brakes in cycle with the coach 100% of the time and is no hassle (no box).

I would recommend it highly! M&G
