Toilet seat lid hitting emergency door handle

We found a solution to the rear bath toilet seat lid, when in the up position, hitting the emergency door handle. In doing so, it had rubbed a spot in the lid and the black was showing through (See first photo).

The solution was a self-adhesive, 3/4" conical black rubber (OK...polyurethane) bumper found here.

https://www.amazon.com/Self-Adhesive...+rubber+bumper

Below are a couple of photos showing the bumper installed and the clearance it now provides. The yellow arrow in the second photo points to the matching white paint rub on the door handle.

This was a very simple solution, but solved an irritating issue.

Toilet seat lid hitting emergency door handle

I put felt circles prior to using the first time in both bathrooms ,and make a point of putting the lids down prior to driving.

Actually, I do have an "appliance white" touch-up kit at home and plan to give it a try.

Please let us know if that matches. Mine was delivered with that mark on it. I decided not to make an issue of it, because we figured there was a real good chance we would forget to put it down and do the same thing ourselves. Just ordered the bumper you gave a link to to prevent making it any worse.

I tried MeanStreak (got it at Lowes) which is basically a white sharpie. Too white.

Nice solution. They make several shades of appliance paint.

I put clear adhesive bumpers on my walls. I saw this problem coming early on.

You're not fooling us, Neal; it was Sam that "saw this problem coming early on." Right?

Same here on both lids. Also for the 1/2 bath vanity hitting the wall.

She always complains I leave the lid down so her water bowl is inaccessible.
