Toilet took a dump

On the way back from Tampa show, stopped at Sun n Fun to stay a night and dump the tanks. My wife calls to me and says "the toilet won't flush". I check it out (it's the gravity dump toilet in the half bath) and the rotating bucket valve isn't moving when the pedal is pushed. When we got home, I removed the toilet to disassemble it and found the (cheap) plastic shaft connecting the bucket and the actuator outside had broken. I decided to quit and call Dometic to see if they sell parts a la carte or as an assembly. Well, I found there are no replacement parts for their model 321 toilets except for the rubber seal. The agent's reply was, "you'll have to replace the toilet". Long story short, Amazon and another 225.00 for a toilet. I was going to upgrade to a toilet with replaceable parts, (their 5 series) but the 321 has a 2 bolt flange while the better one has a 4 bolt flange. I'd have to cut the flange out and replace it. No thanks.

The Dometic 300/310/320 Series are 'limited' in what can be repaired.
Water valve....snaps in/out...easy to replace
Vacuum Valve....on back at top

Bowl Seal....remove/install right thru bowl w/o any tools are disassembly of toilet

Bowl to base is factory seamed therefore flush ball/actuator are not serviceable

4 bolt toilet CAN be used as replacement.
Adapter rings from hardware stores allows for 4 bolt use

Thanks for the replacement chart! I might change my mind on using the same unit.

Just ordered the Thetford Aqua Magic Style Plus as a replacement. It has replaceable parts. What a concept....

Good luck with that, Thetfords tend to use a different floor flange bolt alignment (11 and 5 o'clock vs 9 and 3), which can cause issues swapping if your floor flange is glued in place.

The toilet OP ordered (Aqua Magic Style Plus) is 'Direct' replacement for Dometic 320 series
9 & 3 bolt pattern

So are several other Thetford models

Besides....floor flange adapter plate can be used with existing floor flange W/O having to change it

Yup, Thetford said 9 and 3 alignment. Just glad we had another toilet available or we'd have no place to go.
