And yes. the salesman and folks aren't happy since CW took over TJs. Tom cared much more for his employees, and customers. That is why he had the rallys every year.

Strange I asked them, they were all happy with the switch

We have relatives that work there. They will not tell just anyone their feelings, after all would you tell a customer that you are trying to sell a RV to, how bad the company is you are buying from??????? No you would not. Bad mouthing the company / dealership, is NOT the way to get you to buy from them. so they don't. After all. the salesman gets a good hunk of that new MH price.
Only a person that didn't want a pay check would tell customers how bad it is.

Terry not sure what your agenda here is but I don't buy it.
It's good dealer with good people, I spent two full days there's mostly in the store and shop.
It reminded us of when we bought our Mercedes last year top notch.
if they were so unhappy one could see it in their attitude or face,

I have no agenda, and don't care where you buy your RV. I'm just telling you how it is. I bought from them before CW took it over. So I have something to compare to. And of course the word of some employees
But they do have a very nice campground that we use in the fall or spring when we want to go somewhere close, or visit Black Mountain. I just wouldn't buy a RV from any CW. They have a bad reputation for not standing behind what they sell. TJs prolly better than most.

CW is a highly successful company just doing an IPO, so there's really no basis for your blanket statement it lacks credibility

Sounds like a great experience. So rare these days so thanks for sharing. With all the CW bashing that takes place in the forums, I have to add a positive for Tom Johnson in Marion, NC. We were SB from ME towards FL and at a lunch stop in a rest area, I happened to check in the front generator slide and found coolant dripping from the heater core. Called Spartan and after chatting they said we were only a few miles from TJ in Marion. We called TJ and they took us right in on arrival and after determining it was the heater core and they couldn't get one in for 2-3 business days, they suggested tying it off and bypassing it for now. Long story short, we were back on the road in under 3.5 hours and got the core replaced at Freightliner in Tolleson AZ a couple months later. The charged us about $164 for diagnosis and the bypass fix. We had commitments in FL which is why we didn't wait for the core. It only affected heat/defrost for the dash and had nothing to do with the Oasis heat system.
We were very thankful for them accommodating us with no appointment and coming up with the bypass solution to get us back on the road so quickly. We would definitely use them again.

Our sale went smooth but other than that, I'm never going back.
The only reason we bought from them was our coach was Tom Johnson bought stock and they needed to move it. We got a stellar price and they gave us more for our trade than it was worth.

Sounds like we bought at a similar time (except we purchased from the Concord location). I was searching solely for the right deal, knowing once we drove off the lot, we wouldn't be back. Had bought locally on our first rig to hopefully have/build that good local dealer relationship, which ended up being an absolute disaster (and I'm being kind). Wasn't going to repeat that again, and plus, the variety of dealers in the Northeast where I am is pretty poor anyway.
Tom Johnsons had always been on my radar since they were the closest dealer to me (NJ) that carried quite a bit of American Coach inventory. The "old" Tom Johnsons had a great reputation. Some of the staff from that time was still there (last summer), which is why I took a chance on them. So glad I did. Like Cranemec, we also got an AMAZING deal on a new coach. And, I had been aggressively pricing with many other dealers around the country, primarily looking at used. Never in a million years did I think I could get a new one in the same price range. (And, I truly do know my stuff, pricing, etc. AND, I had a trade). They beat everyone else by quite a bit. The entire process was very seamless. If I had to do it over again, I would. I only hope when it comes time for our next coach, I can find another deal even half as good as the one we got.
Best of luck to you!
