I have a one year old Ventana that came with the TomTom Eclipse radio and GPS. I've been happy with the GPS and never had a problem until I connected it to the TomTom website this week for a routine map update. After I connected, my map was wiped out--deleted. I called TomTom support and they advised that they no longer support maps for the Eclipse! Furthermore, they could not restore my map to my device--hard to believe! So I'm stuck with the Eclipse built-in to the Ventana, and now, with no GPS functionality. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Does anyone know of a way to restore the USA map to the TomTom? Thanks.

There are several links on the TomTom forum, this one has a method of manually installing the maps, maybe this will help?

I too have the TomTom Eclipse in our 2009 Ventana. After reading input from Saber 77 I was curious what may lay ahead for me. We purchased our new Ventana on Feb 2010. I had been offered an 18 month update plan during the summer of2010 for $39.95. When I tryed to purchase it was not offered. I assumed it was not needed on my new unit. In April I received the offer again and once again it was not offered when I tried to purchase. I cunsulted the TomTom forum and foun sveral references to needing to purchase a new map before being able to take part in the 18 month update. This did not sound good. On Friday I called the service number supplied by the Tom Tom web site. After a significant wait a service rep got on the phone and investigated my situation. She identified that the map on my GPS was too old to launch the 18month offer. After checking my registration records she upgraded me to an approriate map to allow purchase of th 18 month program. All ended entirely satisfactory. It did take about an hour to get the new map loaded onto the GPS and another hour to get the newly purchased 18 month update loaded. At this I am a satisfied customer.

Did you backup up the TomTom before you did an update? If so you can restore that backup and be at the point you were before the update. If not the you will have to get TomTom support involved.
