Tool for nuts that hold wheel simulators

Had a flat Sunday. Tech could not get off the lugs that hold on the wheel simulator. The wall to his socket was too big. I purchased my unit used (2017 Bay Star 3401). He had to destroy the aluminum cover covering the nut. I am looking for the correct tool size to remove the lug. The nut inside the aluminum jacket is a 1.5 inch. A special thing would be if anyone knows a part number for a replacement lug.

Thanks

Don't know if that would work

I am not clear the aluminum lug cover will pop off the 1.5 inch flat nut. I do not know if it is a cover or a one piece unit with the flat nut pressed in.The tech tried to get the cover off but couldn't so he had to destroy the cover to get at the nut. Sure would like to know. Cover makes more sense as it is difficult to get a socket between the hub and aluminum cover.

You're looking for the wrench in this eBay listing. Flimsy looking but it worked. BTW, I determined which hub covers you had by looking it up in Newmar's Parts Inquiry (click Parts Inquiry at the bottom of this page and drill down to your model coach).

They don’t make one that won’t twist and fail. Get a good heavy pipe wrench and a towel. The towel so the teeth of the pipe wrench don’t scar the covers

They are definitely pressed in and are not meant to pop off, must be removed with a wrench.

If you call/email Newmar parts department, they will give you a part number you can then order online directly from Newmar.

Thanks

Thanks for all the input. Will follow up when I get back from this camping trip early in July. I did find out my wheel simulators are manufactured by Dicor, so that might be an additional route.
