Tools To Refill Batteries

I ordered two different items, from Amazon, to help with house battery refills.

I bought the Mighty Max Battery refiller and a plain old turkey baster. The Mighty Max was a disappointment, as it could not fill the back bank (couldn't get to them) and it just didn't work well. It seem to leak while using, and hard to tell when the cell was full.

The turkey baster worked perfectly. The reason I ordered this one, is that it had an internal device, in the spout, that kept it from leaking/dripping. I was able to easily reach all cells and, with a flashlight, could tell when they were full to the ring.

I put in over 1/2 gallon of distilled water, back into the four batteries, so I had neglected this maintenance for too long.

The dripless turkey baster is made by Tovolo, on Amazon, and I think I got two for under $20.

Here is what both items looked like...

I use an old plastic honey or syrup squirt bottle and fill it with distilled water. . .
But then I'm cheap.

We use the Pro-Fill system for our 4 6v batteries and it works great.

Here's a link to their site if interested: /https://flow-rite.com/battery-watering/pro-fill

Good luck & Safe Travels...

For batteries that are difficult to access a battery system such as pro Fill is excellent. Pays for itself in that it makes battery maintenance super easy so it gets routinely done thus maximizing battery life.

The ProFill battery watering system will be one of the best purchases you'll ever make. They're pricey, but you can easily top off your water, evenly and correctly, in under three minutes. Since it's so easy to do, you're more apt to do it routinely and extend the life of your batteries.

Harbor Freight has a simple squeeze bulb with a hose going in and out for a couple bucks that makes filling batteries really simple. One hand on the bulb and one on a mirror for the back row.
Simple/ cheap and quick.

good luck

The pro fill system is the only way to go. It was on my coach when I bought it and I tell all my old boating friends I wish I had one on my last boat the 11 yrs. I had it. Never thought it was worth it but it is. Always used the mirror and a flash light while using a battery squeeze bulb filler.

I ordered the same things basically...I recently purchased a precision hydrometer so I can judge when it's time to go into equalization mode.

I have something like the mighty max but it's over 35 years old maybe it's because it's old but it works great as long as you can get a straight shot (square to the hole) and it stops filling when it's full.

Pro-Fill battery water system is the only tool you need for maintaining your battery water levels. I have it on six 6V batteries, takes longer to get the gallon jug of distilled water and connect the squeeze bulb then it does to top off the batteries.

Yes and as Lily Tomlin on Laugh In use to say "and that's the truth, blah"

Interesting, over the 10 years we've used the pro-fill system, on our 4 batteries, never considered that to be a problem, but I suppose for others that may not be the case.

Best regards & safe travels to all.....

I think he was trying to make a point, not that getting out the jug of water and hooking it up was a problem.
