Towed wiring ‘16 Silverado

Getting ready to tow the Silverado for the first time. I did the wiring with a kit that has diodes. Tail lights work, but turn signals do not.

Does anyone know if I need to add resistors to the truck?

GM does not want you to use the factory tail lights. I installed a bulb and socket kit. From front bumper to tail lights. Drill a hole in tail light assembly and add the bulb socket.

Order a kit from Hopkins (they bought out tow daddy)it is very reasonable plug and play no wire cutting. I installed it on my 2017 gmc a little over a year ago.

Save yourself a lot of aggravation and take your Silverado to a trailer shop where they do this every day. Sure, it will cost you a few bucks, but you will know it has been done correctly and you can spend the time you would use for troubleshooting to do other stuff that is a lot more fun.

YMMV

Thanks all for the replies. Between FL Toms comment and a little research, I figured out my problem and had it fixed in about an hour. I used a universal kit and tapped in to he wrong wire for the brake/ turn light. All is well!
