Does anyone out there tow a class B with your class A. It seems that it would be ideal for the small trips after setting up camp. I would also want it to serve as a "family" vehicle so that another couple could accompany us. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Are there any recommendations?

If you can stomach the price you won't beat this bad boy.... And it is fully towable...

I looked at this before we decided on a travel trailer to pull for the mother-in-law. The two main issue that I hit was the GVW of the Class B and how to disconnect the driveline.

I have towed a class B Airstream Interstate (22ft long on a Dodge Sprinter Chassis)with my Essex. The base plate was provided by Roadmaster and the drive shaft was equipped with a mechanical disconnectby Remco MFG. I also used a brake buddy for supplemntal braking.
Everything worked very well, the weight was very manageable (7600#), and I towed it for over 10,000 miles with no incidents. However, in my case I was well over the 70 ft max length allowed in most States but I never had a problem there as well.If you send me a PM with your email I will send you some pictures as I don't know how to post them here.
There are other options as well, but this worked very well for us. Good Luck!

I forgot to mention that I used a Blue Ox tow bar and safety chains rated for 10,000 lbs. The drive shaft was very easiy disconnected and reconnected using a simple lever installed under the front drivers seat.
