Towing set up for Ventana LE & Wrangler

Apologies for this post as I am sure this subject has been discussed before but I am a total newbie to this board and this is our first motor home.

I am really confused about all of the towing options for my new set up.

2017 Newmar Ventana LE 4037 towing a 2016 Wrangler Unlimited...

Looking for any recommendations on towbar and braking systems for this configuration. There are way too many options and would like to hear from those with the experience.

Any thoughts on Falcon 2 and Invisibrake?

Also any thoughts on having Camping World do the towing setup?

TIA

On the Jeep there are basically two options 1) install a base plate 2) install an aftermarket bumper and tow from there. The advantages of towing from a bumper are no lower hanging when offroading. Curry Enterprises and Blue Ox are popular baseplates. Rockhard are popular bumpers with tow options, optionally Blue Ox makes bolt on brackets that can be used with most any aftermarket bumper.

For a towbar and brake, many like the setup from ReadyBrute. Works very well and lowest cost option.

We have a LE 3636 towing an Unlimited. Went with BlueOx products based on recommendations. Baseplate, Aventa towbar and a wiring kit that plugged directly into the Jeeps wiring harness. Also use the Patriot braking system run off a medium sized jump starter that has a 12volt outlet. Went to CA and back on our first trip, never had any issues. Look at etrailer.com

I just finished setting up this very combination this week for a 2016 VLDP and a 2016 Wrangler Unlimited.

I went with a blue ox baseplate, an NSA Ready Brute Tow bar / braking system, an NSA Ready Stop breakaway braking system, and the MOPAR towing harness.

We have a Ventana and 2016 Wrangler Unlimited...

I really like the Blue Ox Base plate...

We chose the Blue Ox Aventa II towbar...and are very happy with it. The Avail is a bit longer and has a new no-bind release mechanism...if that is a concern.

For braking...nothing could be better...IMHO than the Air Force One proportional pneumatic system. Very highly rated...great customer support...and very easy to install on the Jeep. Only requires a fraction of a minute to connect the coiled 1/4" air line and breakaway connection...

Wiring...Mopar harness all the way...if you need the part number let me know. I ordered it from Amazon.

FLSteve had posted a great tutorial on the installation.

It's really a sweet setup...

Lots of options out there !
We towed our Wrangler for 3 years with a Ready Brute Elite towbar system which has integral braking system built in. Also used NSA break-away brake setup. Used Blue Ox baseplate with removable pins. Used a Cool tech wiring harness which simply plugs in to rear light harness of Wrangler.
We just switched to a Grand Cherokee this year. Installed the Blue Ox baseplate and continue to use the Ready Brute towbar.
I would stay away from Camping World - many poor reports.
Actual install of the baseplate and towbar is pretty straight forward, any competent Mechanic should be able to do the work.

We have a Blue Ox baseplate and Aladdin tow bar.

We use an SMI Air force one brake system.

For wiring, I've installed this

in two different Wrangler Unlimited's. Flawless, plug and play wiring to use your Wranglers own lights as running, brake and turn.

Went with DEMCO Commander tow bar and Roadmaster Even Brake proportional braking system. Our dealer installed Base plate on jeep, wired connection so we even had trickle charge to Jeep battery. We have towed 10000 miles so far and very happy. Assuming the tow bar in on the MH I can connect/disconnect in 10 minutes if I'm tired, 5 minutes if fresh. Only stuff visible jeep is small connection points on bumper as shown

Did Camper World tell you how long it would take them to install this set up?

We are using a Blue Ox base plate and tow bar along with RVi brake system. Everything works as advertised and is very easy to set up.

Hi, purchased a 2016 Ventana in April and use a 2016 Jeep Wrangler unlimited as the Toad. Went with the Blue Ox Base Plate and Aladin Tow package. Use the RViBrake 2 system. So far all is working well.

I installed Blue Ox baseplate, wiring kit and Air Force One brake system on my new Chevy Equinox and couldn't be happier. Prior to the AIr Force One brake system I had a Brake Buddy. Night and day difference now with the new AF One
