Trailer tow plug on Essex

Just in case anyone else runs into a problem finding the trailer tow plug and wire that Newmar puts in under the dash. I looked for 2 days upside down. Everyone on the forum said it was stuffed up under the left side of dash. I called Newmar and there answer was" it's up under the dash". I said I've been looking and can't find it. They said it's in there, but couldn't pinpoint it. After tearing half the wiring out,I found it rolled up and shoved way above the steering column on the RIGHT side above the brake pedal. Just hope nobody has to go thru what I did. It's a blue, black, pink and white wire and plug and they ARE labeled, you just can't see them.

Unfortunately, it seems each coach can have the 2 extra wires anywhere "under the dash" just like Newmar states. There's no consistent location.

Maybe that's why they got smart for a while and had a opening on top of the dash.

I too have the whole front of the dashboard torn apart looking for the trailer brake connector. I too called Newmar, they did tell me what color wires to look for and that they were to the left of the steering column. Being an "old guy", upside down and cramped is not my idea of a good time. I removed the speedometer panel and started looking for the 10 ga. blue wire and quickly found it. Followed it across the top of the dash and to the left completely buried was the connector for the brake control. Only took 2 days.
