I have two starting batteries that do not get charged when I plug into the shore power. I have in the past disconnected the batteries and used a low power trickle charger. My question is can I just clip on the trickle chargers on each battery without disconnecting them from the coach electrical system. Does that small amount of power coming in have any effect?

It won't hurt at all... To the coach it's no different than the voltage thats already at and coming from the battery.

I have a battery maintainer for my Road Runner. It says to disconnect the battery positive cable before hooking it up.

I used to do that, but I've been leaving it connected without any problems.

Right now, I have 0 draw on the battery while the car sits, but I will be hardwiring in a GPS tracking device that will put a small draw on the battery. That's why I'll need to keep the battery connected.

I would keep a close eye on the temperature of the batteries while you do this at first to make sure everything is OK.

A better solution is to get a small solar panel installed to maintain those batteries. Mine came with one from the factory.
