TV/ antenna vs cable

Ok, my first question. We are just calling it a night and decided to watch some TV. Under the input button on the TV, we have a choice of: TV, DVD or Satellite. While on TV, we are getting just a couple of channels as it is the local channels out of Grand Rapids. However, this campground has cable tv, so I ran the coax from the post to our RV. But how do I find the 40 cable channels? Is there a switch to change it to Cable? Again, with the remote, I can only change it to satellite or DVD and there are no channels under either of those (I did not bring my Direct TV boxes). Please advise.

Thanks.

you may have to use the remote to turn the tv to ( cable instead of air ) in the tv menu and hit channel scan

Worleybyrd, Thanks!! It is scanning now. I think with the new purchase, my brain must be dead. Thanks for the quick response.

Need to add one more thing. My wife always makes fun of my "forum friends." She is pretty impressed that I got the correct response in less than five minutes!!

Ok, in your RV there is one of 3 things. The first tow are most common.

ONE: a wall plate, this is normally near the MAIN TV, it has an antenna connection (Which normally feeds the MAIN TV) a 12 volt accessory outlet (Which is next to useless) a SWITCH and a LED (light)

Light on-Antenna on
Light off (Assuming fuse is good) CABLE on.

Option 2 is a box of many buttons, Normally labeled, If you need help figuring that one out you are beyond me (Press CABLE button)

Third option is a plate with a switch and light, NO other features should say WINEGARD onit, Kind of rare, See option 1 for instructions.

Next: IF you are not the original owner, and perhaps even if you are.. You mentioned SATellite.

Many RV's the park cable lead has been "retasked" for satellite LNB feed...This is really a bad idea but many do it. IF that is the case... You no longer have the cable option.
