We recently purchased an 03 DSDP and I upgraded the front TV to one of the flat panel HD's. I assume the two RCA cables that were hooked up to the old Sony audio out connections are for receiving sound through the coach speakers, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how they work? I have seen on the forum where some folks say that you use the Sony radio aux selection to get the sound. I have tried every position on the radio after selecting external speakers on the TV all to no avail. Anyone have any further suggestions or happen to know how this system works? All suggestions/recommendations appreciated.......

Welcome Matador 01 to the Newmar forum & irv2.
If you have the Aux unit which you may 03 coach there are audio inputs on it that you may be able to connect to your TV if it has RCA JACKS.
If you go to the Quick Tips & Mod's link you will see where I installed a DVD 5.1 system in my coach. This is what the AUX unit looks like we just have to find it for you.

All the wiring to your speakers are found in back of panel for access to your over head fans motor. All your spkers work only off your Sony radio. But we maybe able to change that.
I'll keep coming back to post here so we will cover everything.
This is what you will see when you open the panel back wall of over head cabinet.

Thanks 007, the TV has an optical audio out and I purchased a tos link to RCA adapter to hook up the two cables that were on the old TV, but still couldn't get any sound. I think I have seen the audio box you showed in my dash, how to get access to it is another issue. Will check today to see if that is what it is. Still don't understand why the two original cables don't work. But in any case appreciate your response, will keep checking as time allows......

They could be from audio output and input's in Aux unit.
As you notice mine comes out of access hole on top of my dash, its held in on shelf by velgro strips and I have fuse blocks in hole also.

007, well I found the box, it's in the same location as yours, but is different in appearance, mine is silver colored, but appears to have all the audio cables going into and out of it, even the ones from the TV. So can't understand why I can't get any sound, unless there is something about the Sony radio I don't understand, I have gone through the manual for the radio, but there's not much help there. In any case thanks for your responses, will continue to mess with it as time allows. We are getting ready to hit the road for an extended time, so may have to wait until we get back....

You have to select the input as the ax-300 states in its manual. The select button will move through am,fm and aux which is where your RCA cables will be plugged in on unit. I think it said which position is which AUX input.
Just checked sorry didn't see it must have had Sony radio manual up on line.

What Sony radio do you have I'll find the manual???
