I had a similar problem when I first got my coach. I am not sure this will apply to your situation but the control unit on/off switch is to be turned on when using the bat wing antenna and turned off when using cable.

He has the Box of Many Buttons.. NOT the wall plate.

Since my RV came with the BOMB, and I added a Sensar Pro (Wall Plate replacement/upgrade) I know both systems.

On the Winegard BOMB the power switch is on the left. Turn it off there is no power to the antenna. OR to the DVD modulator (Which delivers DVD to the remote TV via coax) IT will, however, have no effect on his problem.

007,
On the cable issue, I will have to wait until I am at another campground hooked up to see if turning the amp off helps. On the Direc TV issue, I found out what was causing the snow. The Trac Vision Dish was causing interference and I never realized once it found the satellites, I could turn it off and it would stay locked on. As soon as I turned it off, the picture was clear.
Thanks for all the help!
Bryan

Binspector. Off you are aware of this then please ignore. Once you hook up to park cable you will need to have your tv aware of the cable connection and then you will need to have the tv scan for available channels.

Have fun-Steve

I've got a 2013 Ventana and connecting to cable TV has been an on going puzzle for me too. I've only tried it twice--the first time I didn't know about the power amp behind the passenger seat needing to be turned off. The second time the RV resort listed about 60 channels but my scan only turned up about six. I'm truly baffled.

Roadweary, here is what I do (steps) I am sure others will have there own methods.

If using local antenna
1) turn on amplifier
2) raise antenna
3) point antenna in the direction of local broadcasters (apps like TV Antenna Helper) help
4) turn on tv
5) enter the setup menu
5a) select tv as source input
6) select antenna (or no cable)
7) select channel scan
8) have an adult beverage while it scans
9) turn off tv cause nothing is on, have another beverage!

For park cable
1) turn off amplifier
2) attach cable (:-))
3) turn on tv
4) enter setup menu
5) select tv as source input
6) select cable as source (not antenna)
7) select channel scan
8) do the beverage thing again!

Off course different tvs will have different names for the functions I mentioned.

Have fun and I hope you find something to watch :-) -- Steve
