We'll be replacing our existing TV shortly with a TV lift cabinet where the J couch is located now. Now the $64 dollar question. Should I get an LED TV or an LCD? Which one do you think can handle traveling better? I should mention that we have a DSDP, and of course it has air ride.

I believe either would travel about the same. We have an LCD mounted in the bedroom area, have a gas coach and NO problems at all. I'm holding out for a LED for the front living area. Waiting for it to go on sale.

The led will use less power if you drycamp. Also, many of the led tv's say LED /LCD on the box.

We have two LCD units inside the coach and a 26" LED/LCD in the outside entertainment center. Haven't had a bit of trouble from any of them. We also have two LED/LCD units in the stick house that we're happy with.

IMO, I might give a slight edge to the LED/LCD units because they are thinner and lighter. Maybe the lighter weight will allow it to take jolts and jars a little better(?).

Good luck.

The only basic difference between a LCD and a LED TV is the LED TV uses LEDS for the backlight... it is still an LCD screen, thus they are really LED/LCD or LCD/LED tvs... Using LED's for the backlight has several advantages such as allowing the TV to be lighter weight due to the fact that it does not require a high voltage power supply for the backlight and the backlighting is much smaller thus allowing for very thin TVs. Over time the LED/LCD tv should hold up better.

Thanks all. I was already leaning to the LED. We're so tired of twisting our necks to watch TV. It'll be nice to have the TV across from the seating area...plus my wife wants one at least 46". What's not to like about that. Maybe just maybe I can hold out for a 50". I know they say size doesn't matter....BUT after 50" how can you go to 46".
