I opened the bin door for the exterior entrtainment system yesterday and both dor struts fell out on the ground. Last used it about a week ago and all was fine. The screws on the left strut where fastened to the motor home were broken and the screw heads laying at the bottom. The same screws on the right side were stripped out of the wood. I absolutely cannot figure out how either situation could happen with the door closed. Any suggestions ?

Hi imgoin4it,
This has happened to me. Both the hinges, connected to the pistons were installed backwards. This means when the door is closed there is a slight sideways "hit" to the hinge. It doesn't take long to work loose or break/fall off. The hinges were installed backwards by the factory, dealer and me! What can I say, I was copying what was there before. Finally I looked at another coach. I turned the hinges around and all has been well since. The piston hinges need to be installed with the part holding the piston facing inward, toward the coach interior.
